About the Instructor
From my home in old downtown Anna, Texas, I have been teaching piano and voice since 2006.
I offer piano and voice lessons evenings and weekends to ages 6 and up. Students that are younger then 6 are evaluated on a case by case basis. Piano students are taught individually. I teach to read music and expose them to multiple formats and genre. We have two recitals a year to promote goal setting and follow through.
Voice lessons are taught in a small group setting. Contact me if you would like to try to get a group running.
Why Study Piano?
Learning piano isn't just about learning to play. It teaches young people responsibility and self-discipline. It works both hemispheres of the brain at the same time (math and language processors). Taught with love and a sense of humor, the children learnn to love the language that is music.
Teaching My Passion
I prescribe to the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." My mother was a concert pianist who taught me the way she was taught. I teach my students to read music from scratch. They do not play by numbers. I want them to someday play whatever they want because they will be able to read ANY music.
